Vietnam wall speaks to both present and past
One of the more than 400,000 motorcyclists who participated in the 17th annual Rolling Thunder "Ride for Freedom" to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., breaks down after finding the name of a fallen comrade etched into the black marble of "The Wall," May 30, 2004. Rolling Thunder drew motorcyclists from across the country to gather at the Pentagon and ride across the Memorial bridge to the memorial to pay tribute and raise awareness about those who never made it home. The Wall draws hundreds of thousands of visitors a year. Many leave tributes in honor of the more than 58,000 names carved into the memorial. (U.S. Air Force/Master Sgt. Jim Varhegyi)
