Combat rescue officers ready for field
Two combat rescue officer selection program candidates use one airway tube to breathe underwater Oct. 24 while a program instructor acts as a distraction at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. CRO candidates undergo six days of mental, physical and psychological training and evaluations. Real-world field operations are simulated as much as possible, and those who finish the program and selected as CROs are prepared to command ground recovery teams. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
