Combat rescue officers ready for field
During the second phase of the selection program at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., Ross Kilbride hoses combat rescue officer candidates with ice-cold water to break their concentration. The six-day course is a stream of physical, mental and psychological evaluations designed to train candidates to lead combat operations as direct combatant commanders. Mr. Kilbride is a Combat Rescue Officer/Pararescue Indoctrination course instructor at Lackland AFB, Texas. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Connie L. Bias)
