Eielson's last A-10 nestles into new home
An A-10 Thunderbolt II is towed toward a C-5 Galaxy for transport to the Robins Air Force Base, Ga. Museum of Aviation Flight and Technology Center Oct. 6 at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. This is the last assigned A-10 to leave Eielson AFB. The plane was inactivated in 1996 due to the Air Force's need for ground trainers, and has been used for weapons ground training ever since.
