Double deck aircraft mockup aids firefighting research
Engineers conduct a JP-8 pool fire using 250 gallons of fuel to test temperature sensors on the new large aircraft mockup Sept. 25 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. Air Force Research Laboratory officials, working with the Federal Aviation Administration, developed the mockup to research firefighting and rescue techniques in today's larger, multi-deck aircraft.
