SERE specialists on target

Senior Airman Brian Daubert prepares to land during a parachute jump demonstration Sept. 18 during survival, evasion, resistance and escape training at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. SERE specialists provide weekly demonstrations to show students the performance characteristics of the C-9 emergency egress parachute. The deomos allow students to see firsthand the techniques they've learned in the SERE school. After all jumpers are safely on the ground, one of the parachutists becomes the isolated person, known as the IP or survivor. This begins the combat search and rescue demonstration. The IP demonstrates techniques a student may use to be recovered should they ever find themselves in a "downed-aircrew" situation. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Jocelyn Ford)
