Getting ready for winter in Alaska

Airman 1st Class Alexander Buck practices de-icing an F-22 Raptor Sept. 19 at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. The de-icing test will help officials gather technical data on how cold weather effects the maintenance crew's capabilities while working with this aircraft during the winter. The onset of light dustings of snow on the surrounding mountain ranges is a sign the Alaskan winter is just around the corner. Airman Buck is assigned to the 3rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.
