Kyrgyz controllers see stateside air traffic operations
Akhmed Abdyramanov scans the flightline to get a sense of the airfield management operations Sept. 6 at Andrews Air Force Base, Md. Helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft share the Andrews AFB air space, which provides additional challenges for air traffic controllers. Mr. Abdyramanov is a a senior air traffic controller with Kyrgyz air navigation. The Kyrgyz controllers had the opportunity to participate in a U.S. orientation trip Sept. 3 to 17. The seven controllers visited a number of air traffic control facilities in the United States including Federal Aviation Administration facilities, Andrews AFB and Keesler AFB, Miss., home of the military air traffic control school.
