Manas Airmen remember Sept. 11
The Manas Air Base color guard post the American, Kyrgyz, Spanish and French flags during the Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony at Manas AB, Kyrgyzstan. Distinguished visitors from the United States Embassy, including the U.S. ambassador, attended along with dignitaries from the Ministry of Defense and the Manas International Airport where the base is located. Manas AB opened two months after Sept. 11, 2001, and served as a staging base for initial support for Operation Enduring Freedom. Today the base is the premier logistics hub for continued operations in Afghanistan. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Les Waters)
