Air Force medics provide care aboard Navy hospital ship
Lt. Col. (Dr.) Richard Tate provides dental care for a patient as Staff Sgt. Monica Christman helps Aug. 1 at the San Pablo Roman Catholic School in San Pablo, Belize. The U.S. Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort is on a four-month humanitarian deployment to Latin America and the Caribbean providing medical treatment to approximately 85,000 patients in a dozen countries. While deployed, USNS Comfort is under operational control of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command and tactical control of Destroyer Squadron 24.
