Panjshir PRT
Panjshir Provincial Reconstruction Team commander Lt. Col. Christopher Luedtke meets with Dara district public health minister Dr. Dad Aug. 5 to discuss the progress of the district's medical center expansion project. Colonel Luedtke brought members of his PRT into the Dara district of Panjshir province, Afghanistan, to meet with district officials. Colonel Luedtke is deployed from Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The Panjshir PRT stood up in 2005 and is directed by Ben Lowenthal from the U.S. State Department. Housed at Forward Operating Base Lion in the Hindu Kush mountains, the 40-member team interfaces with a population of approximately 300,000 Afghans spread across 1,393 square miles in six districts.
