Security forces Airmen step outside the wire
Staff Sgt. Dwayne Pyle prepares a Humvee to be towed during battle drills performed before each mission in July at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, Iraq. Sergeant Pyle, assigned to the 732nd Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron Det. 1, performs duties on a police transition team, and the drills are designed to simulate any possible situation the team may encounter while conducting missions outside the wire. This particular drill came in handy a few days later when a Humvee struck an improvised explosive device and had to be towed back to base. The police transition team's goal is to help the Iraqis establish a functioning, independent police force. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Steve Horton)
