Airmen lead multinational effort for Iraqi bombing victims
Lt. Col. (Dr.) Michael Phillips (center) and Army Sgt. The girl was hurt in the July 7 market bombing in Tuz Khurmato, Iraq. Colonel Phillips is assigned to the 506th Expeditionary Medical Squadron. Sergeant Elmery is assigned to the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Headquarters Headquarters Company. Airmen from the 506th Air Expeditionary Group worked with Iraqi medical providers and Turkish army and air force members to receive, transfer and aerovac almost 30 injured Turkmen civilians and family members to the Turkish capital city of Ankara for further treatment.
