RED HORSE Airmen support Army in southern Baghdad

Master Sgt. Lori Bordman runs electrical wires up into the rafters in the first of four tactical operations centers June 22 at Forward Operating Base Kalsu, Iraq. Sergeant Bordman is an electrician with the 557th Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron and a reservist deployed from Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., and is originally from Copperas Cove, Texas. She and her fellow Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers,or RED HORSE, Airmen are forward deployed from Balad Air Base, Iraq, to build the four tactical operations centers for the Army's 2nd Brigade combat team, 3rd Infantry Division headquartered here. The 2/3 ID are currently running their operations out of tents. The Air Force Red Horse unit was requested by the Army to come into this "Triangle of Death" location because of their self-suffiency and for the multiple skill sets they bring to a project.
