Airman memorialized at Hill Air Force Base
Brig. Gen. Dana Simmons presents a Purple Heart to Danielle Balmer during a memorial tribute to her husband, Tech. Sgt. Ryan Balmer, June 8 at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Sergeant Balmer, deployed to Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq, was killed June 5 by an improvised explosive device that detonated near his convoy vehicle. Sergeant Balmer was a special agent assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigation Detachment 113 at Hill. General Simmons is Air Force Office of Special Investigation commander.
