Air Force Week-Sacramento

Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley greets retired Tech. Sgt. Boyd Taylor, a Tuskegee Airman from Sacramento’s Col. George S. “Spanky” Roberts chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, after a proclamation ceremony Sept. 8 at the California State Capitol building’s West steps. The proclamation named Sept. 8 to 13, 2009 as Air Force Week-Sacramento. The ceremony featured a flyover by a C-17 Globemaster III and a KC-10 Extender, as well as performances by the Air Force Band of the Golden West and the Air Force Drill Team. Air Force Week-Sacramento presents activities and exhibitions used to educate the community about the Air Force's capabilities and missions. Other Tuskegee Airmen in attendance were retired Maj. Larry Brown, Retired 1st Lt. Milford Craig and retired Senior Master Sgt. George Porter. Also in attendance was Ms. Gloria Edith Roberts, widow of the late Col. George S.
