Running and remembering

Tech. Sgt. Rudy Moreno leads other members of the 407th Expeditionary Group down the flightline during a 5K run, which is the kickoff to a full day of events celebrating Memorial Day May 28 at Ali Air Base, Iraq. Memorial Day, originally named Decoration Day, was instituted May 5, 1866, in Waterloo, N.Y., to honor the fallen Union Soldiers of the Civil War. After World War I it was expanded to include all military members that have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Sergeant Moreno is assigned to the 407th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Robert W. Valenca)
