Airmen demonstrate their importance to Afghanistan, joint operations
Tech. Sgt. Gloria Olivas discusses work with Brig. Gen. Steve Kwast, 455th Air Expeditionary Wing commander, Aug. 30, 2009. The Airmen are assigned to FOB Lightning as joint expeditionary tasked Airmen who work day-to-day for Army commanders while they're also administratively assigned to Air Force commanders under the 755th Air Expeditionary Group at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The JET Airmen are part of the Embedded Training Team, which mentors Afghan National Army Forces in many skills to include medical and public affairs. The visit by Air Force leaders was designed to check up on Airman morale and readiness, while also thanking the Airmen for their work in the remote part of Afghanistan. Sergeant Olivas is a personnel specialist here. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt. David Faggard)
