Portrait preserves pilot's legacy
Carol Ready stands next to a portrait of her father, Capt. Thomas Wakeman May 21 at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. Captain Wakeman was a World War II veteran and B-26 Marauder pilot. For the first time, Mrs. Ready saw the original portrait, which was painted in 1944. It is on display at the U.S. Air Force Band Headquarters building. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Cohen A.
