Raider goblet ceremony

Air Force Academy Cadet 1st Class Michael Carter shows Connie McClure the goblet of her father-in-law, Charles L. McClure, after a goblet ceremony in San Antonio April 18. There are 80 goblets representing each of the Doolittle Raiders. When a Raider dies, his goblet is turned over in the case. When there are but two Raiders left, the two men will open a bottle of cognac, vintage 1896 (the year Doolittle was born) and give a final toast to their departed comrades. Fourteen of the 80 Raiders are still alive. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Brian Ferguson)
