March 31 airpower: Bombers hit targets
The RC-135 Rivet Joint takes off for a mission March 27 from the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing in Southwest Asia. The Rivet Joint provides real time on-scene intelligence collection, surveillance and analysis to coalition forces in the air and on the ground in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. The 34-person mission crew then forwards gathered information in a variety of formats to a wide range of consumers via the Rivet Joint's extensive communications suite. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech.
