Airman earns medal for lifesaving efforts

Airman 1st Class Kyle Thomas, 36th Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment mechanic, saved a seven-year-old child?s life at a Norman, Okla., bowling alley while on leave before flying to his first duty station here on Andersen. Airman Thomas received an Achievement Medal for performing the Heimlich maneuver, which he learned in basic military training to eject candy that was lodged in the child?s throat, causing him to choke.
