Elmendorf team perfects snow sculpting skills
Eric Zimmerman (kneeling), Staff Sgt. Edward Tompkins and Mitchell Manzo (on ladder), comprising the Elmendorf Air Force Base snow sculpting team, work late into the night Feb. 23 carving out a pirate ship during the Anchorage, Alaska, Fur Rendezvous snow sculpture competition. The team pushed through the exhaustion of freezing temperatures and long hours of labor to vie for a chance to be invited to the 2008 National Snow Sculpting Championship in Lake Geneva, Wis.
