Keeping the runway in tip-top shape

Airman 1st Class Ryan Mealy connects a hydraulic hose Feb. 21 to a jackhammer used to install anchors for the mobile aircraft arresting system at Kunsan Air Base, Korea. Airman Mealy is a power pro apprentice for the 8th Civil Engineer Squadron and is a member of the airfield damage repair team. The arresting system is used to stop a damaged aircraft that cannot stop on its own during landing. ADR teams do everything from crater repair to airfield lighting making it possible to get aircraft back in the air quickly. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Master Sgt. Jack Braden)
