Pearl Harbor pilots
Lts. Ken Taylor and George Welch responded to the Pearl Harbor attack by finding two unharmed P-40 fighters at Haleiwa Field. The two pilots shot down a total of six Japanese aircraft, and they were awarded the first Distinguished Flying Crosses of World War II (courtesy photo).
