Ramstein Air Traffic Control

Staff Sgt. Mark Paraoan monitors the lighting control panel Dec. 29 in the air traffic control tower on Ramstein Air Base, Germany. As an air traffic controller, he is responsible for monitoring the CAT II instrument landing system to ensure all components of the system are working. The ILS is a new system which allows aircraft and crews to land in very low-visibility conditions. Sergeant Paraoan is with the 1st Combat Communications Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt.
