Oregon, Nevada Reservists join search for missing trio
Capt. Ross Willson (left) directs an image analyst to specific coordinates while flying in a C-130H over Mt. Hood, Ore., Dec. 16. Captain Willson, a combat rescue officer from the 304th Rescue Squadron in Oregon, worked with members of the 152nd Airlift Wing from Nevada while aboard the cargo plane equipped with thermal imaging to search for three climbers who left Dec. 7 on what was to be a two-day trip climbing Mt. Hood. The 304th RQS also has two teams of pararescue specialists on the ground battling winds that reached up to 50 mph in an attempt to bring the stranded climbers off the mountain.
