Maintainers turn Rivet Joint
An RC-135 Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft is towed by Staff Sgt. John Terlaje and Airman 1st Class Ross Vandenbosch in Southwest Asia. The F108-model high bypass turbofan engine, introduced to the 135-airframe in August of 1998, has proven to be a reliable workhorse in transporting the heavy 275,000-pound intelligence and reconnaissance platform. Both crew chiefs are deployed from the 55th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron from Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Scott Wagers)
