Navy officer leads AF squadron, celebrates Navy birthday
Navy Cmdr. Todd Rader checks in at the Vance Air Force Base, Okla., operations desk Oct. 4 prior to departing on a training sortie. Commander Rader, the 8th Flying Training Squadron commander, currently is the only active-duty naval officer serving as an Air Force squadron commander in the Air Education and Training Command. He carries on a tradition of having a Navy officer rotate every other year as commanding officer of the unit. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt. Tony Wickman)
