Air Force proposes initial Joint Strike Fighter locations
Air Force officials announced Oct. 4 the F-35 Lightning II will be initially located at seven military installations. The initial Joint Strike Fighter locations are Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.; Nellis AFB, Nev.; Edwards AFB, Calif.; Hill AFB, Utah; Kadena Air Base, Japan; and Shaw AFB/McEntire Air National Guard Base, S.C. The Joint Strike Fighter is a fifth-generation, supersonic stealth fighter designed to replace a wide range of existing aircraft for the U.S. and eight partner nations. (Courtesy photo)
