Heroism earns Airman presitgious award
In this photo taken under extreme conditions in Afghanistan, Tech. Sgt. Stephen Achey talks to military officials while assigned to Bagram Air Base in 2002. Sergeant Achey was awarded the Silver Star for his actions in Afghanistan and received the Keeper of the Flame Award from the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Sept. 20 for his efforts in fighting the war on terrorism.
