ROVER adds extra set of eyes to sky
Lt. Col. Gregory Harbin briefs basic cadets during a visit to the U.S. Air Force Academy July 28. During his visit, he demonstrated the Remote Operated Video Enhanced Receiver in action. The ROVER is basically a laptop with antennas that receives video captured by an unmanned aerial vehicle. The video shows real-time, nearby dangers allowing ground troops to make quick decisions regarding air strikes. Colonel Harbin is assigned to the 609th Combat Operations Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. (U.S. Air Force photo/Dennis Rogers)
