Angel Thunder
Pararescuemen from the 58th Rescue Squadron fast rope out of a HH-60 Pavehawk to reach a simulated crash site July 27 as part of a mass casualty scenario in exercise Angel Thunder. The mass casualty scenario involved two CH-47 Chinook helicopters crashing. Once on the ground, pararescuemen triaged survivors and relocated them to a casualty collection point. They were then flown to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base to a simulated level 2/3 medical facility. This part of exercise Angel Thunder involved the 48th, 58th, 66th, 79th and 305th Rescue Squadrons as well as air support from the 358th Fighter Squadron.
