C-130s keep convoys out of Sunni Triangle
Navigator 1st Lt. Trent Smith adjusts coordinates during a flight out of Balad Air Base, Iraq. The average C-130 Hercules sortie keeps three trucks' worth of cargo off the road. That means in one average day, the transport?s six-Airman crew keeps 27 trucks -- and all of their support vehicles, drivers and security troops -- off Iraq?s roads. The lieutenant is with the 777th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Jason Ridder)
