Joint team moves critically ill infants
Two critically ill infants are loaded into a waiting C-17 Globemaster III May 26 for transport from Kadena Air Base, Japan, to Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The combined efforts of the ECMO team from Wilford Hall's 59th Medical Wing; ground and aircrews from Kadena AB, Elmendorf and Eielson Air Force bases, Alaska; and Reserve support from the 433rd Airlift Wing at Lackland AFB, helped to ensure a successful mission to bring the ill infants to Wilford Hall for the advanced care that was unavailable at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa.
