Slugging at the Pentagon

ARLINGTON, Va. (AFPN) -- Master Sgt. Roy Blanchard waits for a ride home Jan. 17 to Fredericksburg, Va. Commuters around the national capital region use "slug" lines to avoid traffic driving to and from work. People line up according to their destinations and drivers will pick up enough people to use the high occupancy vehicle lanes. It allows them to bypass traffic in their morning and afternoon commutes. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman J.G. Buzanowski)
