Airmen bring holidays to remote village
ARCTIC VILLAGE, Alaska (AFPN) -- Brig. Gen. Hawk Carlisle greets Olivia Hollarath, and her sister, Brittany, during a traditional visit between Airmen from Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska and the Athabascan Indians of Arctic Village, Alaska. "Neets'aii Gwich'in" is the name given to the village by the Athabascan Indians. The 517th Airlift Squadron came to the village's aid in 1967 and has made an annual visit ever since.
