Eglin firemen keep NASCAR teams safe
TALLADEGA, Ala. -- J.R. Sudarth watches over the Wood Brothers Racing Team as they conduct a 10-second pit stop on the No. 21 Air Force-sponsored NASCAR. The care was recently driven by Ricky Rudd at the Talladega Superspeedway on Oct. 2. Mr. Sudarth and three other firefighters from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., were among a group of firefighters who work part-time each spring and fall at Talladega NASCAR races to make sure the drivers and race teams are safe.
