F-16 pilots provide support for troops on the battlefield
BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- First Lt. Christopher Jones completes an inspection of his aircraft before departure. Pilots work alongside maintainers to ensure each mission goes off without a hitch. Using the training they receive at their home stations, pilots are using their weapons systems to provide convoy escort, raid support and infrastructure reconnaissance for troops on the ground. Lieutenant Jones is an F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot with the 510th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Shaun Emery)
