SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Trevor Howett sets off a 5-inch shell during a Fourth of July celebration as his wife, Christine, looks on during the 30-minute gala. Mr. Howett's uncle, Bob Howett, of the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron, has been putting on fireworks shows here since the 1980s.
