Police taps
ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Master Sgt. Richard Marion plays taps as Airmen with the 48th Security Squadron render salutes during a retreat ceremony here honoring Police Week on May 19. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as "Police Week". The first official memorial service took place May 15, 1982. Sergeant Marion is the noncommissioned officer in charge of medical logistics for the 48th Medical Support Squadron.
