Practicing medicine in the field
LAS FLORES, El Salvador -- Senior Airman Jessica Henry takes Army Sgt. George Ruf's pulse while calling for help from engineers at a work site here during a medical evacuation exercise April 19. The exercise tested the response capabilities of medics, a joint Army and Air Force construction crew and an aircrew from the 24th Medical Company supporting Joint Task Force Para Los Ninos. The exercise is a joint humanitarian readiness exercise providing schools and clinics around the San Vicente area hit hardest by multiple earthquakes in 2001. Airman Henry is a medic with the 27th Medical Operations Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Karen J. Tomasik)
