World War II Memorial
WASHINGTON -- Veterans living at the Armed Forces Retirement Home here visited the World War II Memorial on May 11. The memorial is nestled between the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument on the National Mall. Congress authorized the memorial in 1993 and construction began in September 2001.
