The 'Challenge' continues
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Staff Sgt. Brian Waits, a UH-1N Huey helicopter flight engineer, calls out elevation distances to the aircraft commander while going through an obstacle course. Sergeant Waits and his crew are from the 30th Space Wing here and are competing in the helicopter operations portion of Guardian Challenge. The competition takes place here May 2 to 6 and tests the wartime readiness of teams representing each missile and space wing unit from Air Force Space Command. Competition events include timed exercises in missile-crew operations, missile and space maintenance, spacelift operations, space and missile communications, missile code controllers, helicopter operations, chefs and security forces.
