Liquid O

NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- Senior Airman Gilbert Partida takes a sample of liquid oxygen stored here. Liquid oxygen can reach temperatures of minus 297 degrees. Airmen sample it every 90 days to ensure the oxygen is at least 99.5-percent pure so pilots can use the oxygen when they fly. Airman Partida is a laboratory technician assigned to the 99th Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels flight. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Chris Stagner)
