A heartfelt presentation
WALTER REED ARMY MEDICAL CENTER, D.C. -- Airman 1st Class Anthony Pizzifred visits with Secretary of the Air Force Dr. James G. Roche and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper here March 24. Airman Pizzifred was on a foot patrol at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, when he stepped on a mine March 13. He severely injured his left foot and sustained minor cuts on his right leg. Secretary Roche presented Airman Pizzifred with a Purple Heart. The Airman also received an Air Force Achievement Medal for his tour at Bagram.
