Pilot for a day
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Kameron Ballard-Huffman, the Fighter Pilot for a Day here March 18, tries on a set of night-vision goggles under the watchful eye of Maj. Steve Latham. The program lets terminally ill children see what it is like to be a fighter pilot. Kameron is in the end stage of a rare liver disease. He is from Husila, Alaska, a town about 250 miles northwest of Fairbanks. Major Latham is assigned to the Alaska Air National Guard's 210th Rescue Squadron.
