School renovation project builds bond between U.S., Kyrgyz Republic

During a ground-breaking ceremony held April 14 for a renovation project at Birdik Village School in Kyrgyzstan, Olga Voroshihina, the school's principal, gives freshly picked tulips to Lt. Col. Patrick Crabb, chief of the U.S. Embassy's Office of Military Cooperation. The "thank you" was for his unwavering efforts over the past several years to secure funding for a $470,000 school renovation project. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Phyllis Hanson)
