VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The last Atlas IIAS rocket launched from here Dec. 2. It carried a National Reconnaissance Office payload. The space launch complex will be refurbished to accommodate the Atlas V rocket. Atlas V is one of two evolved expendable launch vehicles set to provide medium and heavy space-lift capability here.
