Fast fire
FORT SILL, Okla. -- A High Mobility Artillery Rocket System is downloaded from a C-130 Hercules on Nov. 19. For the first time, a HIMARS was flown combat loaded with live rockets more than 650 nautical miles from Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala., to an assault landing zone here. The exercise was a joint effort of soldiers, airmen and Marines. The rocket launcher was downloaded, and ready to fire in less than 20 minutes. It finished the mission by moving to a firing point nearby and firing a six-rocket volley of practice rounds. (U.S. Army photo by Fred W. Baker III)
